I also want to give God glory for my own mother, who has been so strong in the Lord since she came to Him about 13 years ago. He has saved her from a life-threatening disease, and brought my two brothers into His Kingdom answering her fervent prayers. My mother’s prayers have helped me far beyond anything I could imagine, and I thank God for her!
In my daughter’s eyes, I see a quiet strength that can only come from the Lord. A desire to please God and to do her best. A longing to reach out to others and build them up. The ability to form a deep bond and love deeply.
The fruit of righteousness will be peace; the effect of righteousness will be quietness and confidence forever. Isaiah 32:17
In my daughter’s eyes, I see wonder. I see a free spirit and enthusiasm for life that comes from knowing she is loved by God. A willingness to devote herself wholeheartedly to whatever she is called to do , while resting and trusting in God’s everlasting arms.
In my daughter’s eyes, I see joy unfettered. Taking a leap into Trusted Arms, she squeals as she knows she will be lifted up. I see anticipation of what fun and laughter tomorrow will bring. I see her joy, and I can’t help but absorb it as I look into her eyes.
You have made known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand. Ps 16:11
How blessed I am on this Mother’s Day that my children will grow to know the God of the Universe, and He will be faithful to all generations. I chose to focus on my beautiful daughters this Mother’s Day because they are the greatest gift He has given me, aside from my salvation.
